Scripture
We believe and put our full trust in the Bible. The Bible consists of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments. It is the infallible Word of God, verbally inspired by God, and without error in the original manuscripts. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21, 1 Corinthians 2:13, Proverbs 30:5, Psalm 12:6, John 17:17)
The Trinity
We believe in one living, sovereign, and glorious God. God exists in three Persons: God the Father, who is the fountain of all being; God the Son, who is eternally begotten, being of one essence with the Father; and God the Holy Spirit, proceeding in the full, essence, as a Person, eternally from the Father and the Son. Each Person in the Godhead is fully and completely God. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 16:6, 2 Corinthians 6:16, 1 Timothy 4:10, John 14:26, John 16:13-14, 1 Corinthians 12:11)
God’s Purpose
We believe that God foreknew all that would happen in His creation. God is sovereign over everything. He created all. Within all His creation, God seeks glory. God’s overall purpose is glory to be drawn to Himself. This glory is displayed through His creation, Scripture, and the salvation of man. (Romans 11:36, Ephesians 1:6,12,14)
God’s Creation of the Universe and Man
We believe that God created the universe out of nothing within six days. Man was also part of that creation as God created Adam from the dust of the ground and Eve from his side. Adam and Eve are parents of the human race that were created in the image of God and without sin. (Exodus 20:11, Genesis 1:26-27)
Man’s Sin and Fall from Fellowship with God
We believe that man was led astray from God’s Word and wisdom by the deceit of Satan as man chose to take what was forbidden. This sin caused man to fall from the original innocence and communion with God his Creator. Therefore, all people are corrupt by nature and are enslaved to sin. People alone are not capable of overcoming their selfish desires. (Genesis 3:6, Isaiah 59, John 8:34, Ephesians 2:1-10)
Jesus Christ
We believe that God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to dwell and live on the earth for thirty-three years. Within this time, Jesus lived a perfect and holy life before God His Father. Jesus died a sacrificial death for the sins of many who would believe and follow Him, and rose again from death to life to seal the promise of salvation and eternal life in heaven for His followers. (1 Peter 2:22, Isaiah 53:9, Romans 3:25, Luke 22:19-20, 1 Peter 1:3, Romans 8:11)
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit has always been at work in the world. The Holy Spirit shares in the work of creation, awakens faith in God’s people, performs signs and wonders, gives triumphs in battle, empowers the preaching of prophets, and inspires the writing of Scripture. (Psalm 104:30, Genesis 1:2, Romans 8:7-9, Judges 14:6, 1 Samuel 10:6, Luke 24:49, John 16:13-14, 1 Corinthians 12:7-10)
The Justifying Act of God
We believe that God justifies the ungodly by faith alone apart from works. God pardons their sins and reconciles them as righteous and acceptable in His presence. Faith is the only instrument by which man is united to Christ. Jesus’s perfect righteousness and satisfaction for sins is the only way in which people are found accepted before God. (Titus 3:5-7, Romans 3:28, Romans 4:4-5, Hebrew 4:14-16)
Christ’s Church and Her Ordinances
We believe that the ultimate purpose of the church is to glorify God in joyful worship unto Him. It is God’s will that the local church is a place where believers gather together to hear the Word of God proclaimed, engage in corporate worship, practice the ordinances of baptism (prerequisite for being a member of the church) and the Lord’s Supper (only taken by followers of Jesus Christ), to build each other’s faith, to hold each other accountable with a Biblical foundation, and to bring the Gospel to people locally and around the world. (Colossians 1:18, Ephesians 3:10, Matthew 5:14-16, Revelation 5:9-12, Ephesians 4:11-12, 2 Timothy 4:1-2, Ephesians 5:18-20, Matthew 28:19, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Acts 2:38, Acts 8:12-13)
The Coming of the Lord
We believe that when Christians die, they are made perfect in holiness and are received into paradise. In paradise, they are taken into the presence of Jesus Christ. At the end of the age, Jesus Christ will return and gather His elect, raise the dead, judge the nations, and establish His kingdom. The righteous will enter eternal bliss in bodily form on the new Heaven. Those who are not deemed righteous will live in eternal misery in Hell with Satan. (Hebrews 12:22-23, Luke 23:43, Acts 1:9-11, Luke 21:27, Matthew 24:31, 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17, Matthew 19:29, Romans 1:18)
